*The Airedale Terrier breed is a medium sized, square-shaped dog with a short wiry coat, whiskers, and a goatee. It was used for hunting a variety of predators including badgers, weasels, otters, foxes, and water rats as well as for police work, guard work, and the carrying of war dispatches.

*American Staffordshire / Staffordshire Bull Terriers*

                         
                                                              

*The American Staffordshire Terrier breed is about 18" at the shoulder, but owing to its powerfully muscular and stocky build, it may weigh more than 50 lbs. Some specimens reach 70 lbs. The general appearance is that of a straight-legged Bulldog with a rounded muzzle. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the English version of the breed, is smaller and lighter than the American, but has essentially the same temperament. In the past these breeds were used for pit fighting.

*Description: Very bold...docile...courageous...agile...speedy...gentle and easy going with the family...ok with strangers if a dominate family member is present, but a menace to them when encountered alone...can accept a new master quickly.


 *Behavior: Behavior problems may include indoor restlessness, dominance challenges to submissive people, potential danger to visitors if the dog is untrained and house soiling. This dog breed needs firm, and continuous training not to attack other dogs.

Use discretion...if raised from puppyhood these breeds can be good with children, but never leave a strange child alone with these dogs.
